The Dandenong World Fare - Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 11am

The Market will showcase the diverse and delectable food represented within the market itself and beyond. You will truly leave your passport at home and enjoy World Fare! Enjoy hawker style food stalls and food tastings, cultural entertainment and have an un-missable opportunity to kiss the camels.

A fare in every sense of the word. Fun, festive and frivolous with food from all over the world as the hero of the day. A ‘World Fare’. Taste buds will be tempted from Thessalonica to Turkmenistan, from Bombay to Barcelona. No stone will be left unturned in our quest to represent as many tastes from around the world as possible.

Importantly, every country will display their most idealistic, exotic or traditional fare. Food will be beautifully presented in every form imaginable: from typical Singapore ‘Hawker’s’ Market stalls, to pretty, striped, canopied stands, bicycles with baskets of food on the front, Bain Maries featuring hot and cold offerings, sizzling hot-plates, barbecues, steamers, refrigerated and even ‘wandering’ vendors, and the famous Afghan Tea Cart to savour refreshing teas Afghan style.

Date:
Sunday 18th March from 11am

Venue: The Dandenong Market, Clow Street Dandenong

Cost: Free entry

Food from $1 - $15

Event Day

On the day of the event we will have musical/dance performances, visiting chefs, cooking demonstrations and other surprises. A variety of publicity across Melbourne will lead up to the event. The food offer will be very diverse, reflecting the multicultural community that is Dandenong.

There will also be stalls selling interesting and authentic wares from around the world.

Giveaways: 1000 gloriously branded shopping bags will be given away with recipe leaflets, offers and a gift voucher to spend at the Dandenong Market (as a rich reminder of their time spent in Dandenong).

Free food tastings and even Boutique Brewers tastings will be offered and no doubt get people talking.
