Fluro lights up the Market

A large scale fluorescent artwork has been installed at the front entrance to the Market. The artwork is by Rowena Martinich who has used glass as her canvas in a unique installation designed to enliven this pedestrian corridor. This exciting new contemporary artwork called 'Chromablitz' features Martinich's trademark use of fluorescent colour and random marks. Her work is painted onto film and fixed to glass windows and doors giving a burst of implusive energy and bright luminous colour. Martinich has a Master of Art in Public Spaces and has also completed an artists residence at the National Gallery of Victoria. Her work has been presented in Melbourne, Italy, France, Turkey and China.

You'll journey through the market's food halls and enjoy generous tastings, a shopping bag, spice starter kit, $5 gift voucher, delicious recipe ideas and plenty of time to explore. Tours run every third Friday of the month and every fourth Saturday of the month. Tours commence at 10am and run for approximately one and half hours.
